Moyes needed hindsight to clock his starting 11 was a shambles when every cunt on here could see it as soon as it was announced? Embarrassing

Worst game of football I've ever watched in my entire life.

To play that defensively and still concede even one goal is ridiculous.

Brighton were pony.

Positive is it's a point.

And all football is shit over Christmas anyway

Antonio IS always guaranteed a start.

They were missing Lamptey and we were missing Antonio. Evens it out.

Yeah feet, our massive injury list of 2 players that weren’t guaranteed a start last season, has kicked us in the teeth

Recent schoolboy mistakes by Moyes

Antonio back too early

Today's weak lineup

On top of his usual habit of wrong and late subs..

We will never be more than lower middle table with him and GSB...

On another topic if Antonio and Masuaku had played we would have destroyed them 👍

True

On another topic, If Lamptey had been playing we would got beat and not scraped a draw

Noble handled that himself I'm afraid.

He would have humiliated Mark Noble probably.

Moyes mistake putting him in (twice) then he can’t find a way out of it

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
It was obviously not working today, that was evident after 15 mins.

From Moyes post match comments, it seems he realised this in the first half too.

He waited till half time to do anything about it. He alludes to this in those post match words.

He waited. He could've changed it. But he waited.

He cost us. That opening goal could've been prevented with a change, tactical or personel. But he waited.

Knob.

What annoys me is that as soon as the team was put out many fans said we could struggle and we did, why don’t the coaching team see that?

Overall i thought we were poor, especially in the first half, a draw flattered us TBH, Brighton wll feel they should have won...........

Need to wake up and get back to that team that made Leicester and Wolves look shit.

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
I "think" what he was trying to do was play a 532 but it looked nothing like that with Bowen hanging wide right, full/wing backs not pushing up and Noble in no man's land by the looks of it. Trying two up top but playing 5 at the back just didn't work.

Know we have struggled at times with four at the back but in Rice and Soucek we do have two holding midfielders so home against Brighton we could have gone 442 or 4411. At least he admitted he got it wrong.

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
What a baffling team selection for this one. I think this is something that for once we all seem to agree on.

As good a servant as he has been to the club, Noble should not be starting games. I thought that one had been put to bed, so was shocked to see the starting line-up.

I think Lanzini or even Snodgrass would have been a better choice, or fuck it, just play Benrahma as a 10 and see what happens. Any of those choices would have been more effective. This isn’t just hindsight either, we’ve all seen it.

We looked like we couldn’t be bothered today for large stretches of the game, which was a bit worrying.

Well Moyes admits he got it wrong. One positive to come out of today.

Here's what he said:

“In hindsight it was not the right decision [team selection]. I wanted Jarrod and Seb [Haller] up front at the start, hoping they’d give us something.

“We are trying to find a solution to losing Micky Antonio and Arthur Masuaku. We are trying to find that. Even Arthur, for the balance, as well as Micky, we are missing them both.

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
Not unsurprising is it? Every week we surrender the midfield no matter how shitty our opponents are. It doesnt matter whether we are home or away, they take the piss out of us. There is not one of our midfielders capable of taking the ball off an opponent and when we do get the ball off of them we lose it straight away as there are so many of our team defending. There are players in the league who score against us every time they play us but never do much against anyone else. We have had to adopt a back five to make up for how useless Cresswell is. Noble shoukd have been put out to grass long ago. Haller is totally disinterested not surpisingly as he is totally isolated. You only have to look at the stats to see how much possession we have. They got rid of Allardice for turning in these sort of performances.

Keep Dreaming 6.19

Spot on.
I just cannot fathom what this dour Scotch fucker was doing tactically in this game at all.

I’m sorry all this pro Moyes rhetoric up to now surely must go out the widow. I was feeling quite upbeat about things too.
It’s all gone out the window after today.
This manager could be as neanderthal as Fat Sam. It just beggars belief.

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
We’ve struggled at times in the past to beat Palace or Brighton especially when these teams had Glen Murray up front.

Neither team are easy to roll over but being unable to beat them puts our season into perspective.

Still, Liverpool could not beat WBA today, that’s football.

Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
One thing, I can’t understand why people expect us to steam roll Brighton. Moyes got it completely wrong today but I think Brighton is our level. I think if everyone was fit for both clubs more of their players get in our side than vice versa. Still a dog shit performance from manager and players mind.

, 8:37 Sun Dec 27
Re: West Ham ⚽ Brighton - Official Match Thread
This performance was not a bolt from the blue because we struggled against a Palace and succumbed to a Chelsea team which apart from against us has underperformed recently.

So today we performed in line with current form. We have a thin squad and we’re missing a fit Antonio and Masuaku.
